Smoothie Bar
by RonnieB
A
smoothie bar is an area where you can accomplish all the tasks necessary to create and
sell delicious tasting fruit smoothies and shakes. A
smoothie bar designed for a health club will usually take up 400 square feet, but they
can range anywhere from 100 square feet to 1200 square feet depending on the type of investment you want to make.
Smoothie bars are commonly designed with foot traffic in mind and are usually placed
in areas where all customers are most likely going to see the smoothies
being made.
Many smoothie bars offer a variety of other items like; supplements, coffee drinks,
RTD's, etc. The amount of items you want to offer at your
smoothie bar will be dependent on how much space you want to devote
to your smoothie bar.
If you own a health club, a smoothie bar (aka juice bar) is a fantastic way to boost your RPW. Most health clubs currently offer some type of retail sales to their members, whether it's RTD drinks, protein bars or clothing. There are many avenues to boost a gyms RPW however, non of these offer the benefits of the Smoothie Bar.
Smoothies are very inexpensive to make and offer large profits. In a health club you
can combine the front desk area with the smoothie
juice bar. This allows you to make sure all members coming in and out through the highest traffic area (the front desk) get to see the
smoothie bar. While customers are interacting with the front desk staff they can be offered a
smoothie or even smoothie
samples. Sampling smoothies
is a very inexpensive way to gain a smoothie
customer for life.
